Solution
The Patient requires a simple familiar device that will remind
them of what drug and dosage to take. This device must allow
the Patient to submit a response that would be immediately
available to their Doctor.
The Doctor must then in return be able to monitor the Patients
progress and if necessary, change the dosage of the prescribed
medication.
This can simply be achieved by the Patient being issued with
a SMART Mobile Phone or a PDA running PROD Client Software,
and the Doctor monitoring and maintaining the Patients progress
via a simple Internet Browser accessing PROD Server software.
It’s time to take your medicine….
PROD will
• Prompt the patient with a sound and a clear message
stating the exact drug and dosage
• Record the actual date and time that the patient indicated the dosage
was taken
• Prompt for multiple dosage of different drugs at different times for
the same patient
• Prompt the patient reliably even if the handheld device is not connected
to a mobile network
• Will continue to alert the patient at pre-set intervals until the dosage
is taken
How are you feeling today?…
PROD will:
• Collect feedback from the customer each time a dose
is taken
• Ask the patient to answer simple multiple-choice questions
as to their state of health and the effectiveness of the drugs
used, (these can be customised to suit specific applications)
• The patient answers questions via a simple intuitive
user interface that can be operated with a single finger, (questions
can be answered in a few seconds)
Monitoring/ Maintaining The Patients Progress….
The prescribing physician can be informed
automatically if:
•
A dose has been missed
• Any negative symptoms are reported
• A patients handset has not reported in for a pre-set period of time
The prescribing physician can call up a patients
record at any time including,
• Date and time each dose was taken
• Responses to questions asked at each dose
• Physicians can alter the timing or dosage remotely
• changes will take effect the next time the Patients device connects
